The Founders of the Societies are:

Mgr. Charles Auguste Marie de Forbin-Janson
Founder of the Society of the Holy Childhood (Children Helping Children)

French Bishop Charles de Forbin-Janson founded the Society of Missionary Children in 1843.

Fr. Paolo Manna
Founder of the Missionary Union of the Clergy

Paolo Manna, born in Avellino (Italy), 16 January 1872, was sent to Burma after he became a missionary of the Pontifical Foreign Mission Institute (PIME).

Pauline Marie Jaricot
Foundress of the Association for the Propagation of Faith

The foundation of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith was due to the insight, the initiative and the method of a young French lay woman.

Jeanne Bigard
Foundress of the Society of St. Peter the Apostle

In 1889 a desperate Bishop of Nagasaki in Japan wrote to two French women, Mme Stephanie Bigard and her daughter.
