The Pontifical Mission Societies in Malta and Gozo offers a sponsorship scheme for eight seminaries.
Donors who wish to provide the subsidy for a seminarian’s final four years of study become sponsors. Sponsors are given the name and photo of a seminarian and asked to pray for him, and he for them but they may also correspond if they wish.
Contributions are allocated to seminaries in mission dioceses throughout the world according to need, with help offered to each seminary according to the number of students. This system of allocating funds helps ensure that aid is distributed fairly and that those who are most desperately in need receive enough support.
The Sponsorship Scheme is as follows;
- Exclusive Sponsorship
- Non-Exclusive Sponsorship (between four benefactors)
- Non-Exclusive Sponsorship (between five benefactors)
Exclusive Sponsorship
One – time fee of € 2,400.00
Payments can be spread over the four year period the student is in the seminary.
Payments can be made at the Missions Office by cash, money order or direct bank deposit in one of our accounts.
The benefactor would be paying all of the student’s expenses, therefore he is the student’s sole sponsor.

One – time fee of € 600.00
Payments can be spread over the four year period the student is in the seminary.
